usually spot on (at least with waves).Ĭomplementing latency measurments with X-WSG card in X32 (compact):įor all who are interested and into latency measurements using LiveProfessor… like there is the buffer, but then there is also latency in AD/DA (if used) if the card has noth digital and AD/DA will it then report the highest, or keep them all in sync? etc,etcġ.3 ms waves is calculated from the number of samples reported by the plugin. I can say that the 2.27/2.02 ms reported in LiveProfessor is acquired from the Audio Device, and I have seen that not all of them give exact values. I would say by nature, MADI has less latency then Dante.Īs for the missing millisecond, I have no idea. My best latency configuration on the above mentioned setup (X32-USB 32/32, 48kHz, 32 samples in LP2) actually is:ħ.71ms round trip latency (meaning from stage box signal In through LP2 to stage box signal Out, without any plugin inserted ĩ.07ms round trip latency (meaning from stage box signal In through LP2 to stage box signal Out, with Waves plugin C6 (+1.3ms) inserted.ġ.04ms X32 system (stage box In to stage box out, no Enhancer, no Limiter inserted) mesaured value Will the LP2 In and Out latency be drastically smaller using a DANTE or MADI card setting? So my question is: What influences the latency LP2 generates using different interfaces? LP2 telling me LP In: 1.77ms, LP Out 2.5ms LP2 telling me Lp In: 2.27ms, LP Out: 2.02msĪpplying the YAMAHA USB UR22-Interface (48kHz 2 In, 2 Out): LP2 telling me LP In: 3.0ms, LP Out 3.0msĪpplying the X32-USB-Interface 32/32 or 16/16 (48kHz):

I've attached a pic of the routing, if that's helps.I am measuring latency with using LP2 on a MacBook Pro Mid 2010 and the X32 system (X32 Compact + X32R as stage box).Īpplying the X32-Firewire Interface 32/32 or 16/16 (48kHz): I have ableton coming out and am using input 14 as my ableton channel.Īre you suggesting there's something I'm missing? I'm a bit confused by this answer I'm afraid.

Mine will not work for you i expect or i would fire across a template for ya The 18 has serious routing capabilities and can be a bastard if you cannot grasp it, so i suggest experiment, stick with it and when you get it right for an application save the snapshot on the main screen of the xr18 page and then it is ready for you at any point, i have 16 snapshots now - they are all different in routing and what fx are on what channels for what purposeĭon't forget this is just digital routing, it can go anywhere at the click of a mouse - it will not hurt, just dont whack up the amp too high until you know there is no feedback - have you got a panic button anywhere? i have mute outs power cycle switched on too just in case i ever need to hit the power

You need to goto the IN/OUT tab the right of the screen and configure the USB sends and returns page to suit you and your system/application

Make the channel doing the send goto the pedal its input stage, then drop the fader to minimum, now the pedal channel return is the entire mix and the volume going out to the pedal is as good as full level at the input stage - no phasingīasically click the channel you want to send out, then click SENDS tab the top of the mixer, now on the AUX you are using make that show as input by clicking the little circleįeedback should only happen if the pedal is feeding back into itself from the aux bus though, make sure the pedal return has no send to itself on the aux screen Is this the best way to use external fx with these mixers, or (again) am I missing something? Perhaps a return thays not called a return, or hidden.ĭoes the pedal have a wet dry mix? if so make it all the way wet Is there a way around this, that I am missing? Not having used a digital mixer before, it may be naivety on my part as I'm approaching it as I would with a physical mixer. Where I'm failing, is in a feedback loop when trying to route ableton through the send, and back into the pc. This works fine with external instruments, albeit a bit of a faff having to raise channel 16s fader, but works. Pretty straight forward and as you would with a standard mixer thay doesn't have returns. I have route one of the aux outs, into my pedal, and then the pedal is going back in via channel 16. I have the x18 and would like to use external fx. Music tribe forum appears to be dead or non existent, and Google et al, have been unhelpful, so I'm here asking for your help :-)
